Google unveiled a beta version of its API “Cloud Job Discovery,” which will “broaden the service’s reach beyond job boards and career site providers to staffing agencies and applicant tracking systems,” the company said. Google’s also introducing support for job searches in more than “100 language varieties.”

HCM Technology Report News RoundupADP says the next version of its ADP DataCloud will offer AI tools to generate insights based on organizational performance, study user behavior and “proactively assist” practitioners with routine HR tasks. The product will also receive mobile analysis and metrics for their teams in a way that’s relevant to different locations. ADP expects the new version to launch at the end of 2017.

While the overall sector treads water, at best, video-interview firm Take The Interview has changed its name to ConveyIQ and added features that make it more akin to marketing platform. CEO Danielle Weinblatt told Joel Cheeseman in ERE to “Think of ConveyIQ as ‘Hubspot for recruiting.’” Speed is the company’s focus, she said. “We knew that if we could help companies communicate more effectively and capture better data throughout the process, we could dramatically influence the time-to-fill positions and candidate perception about an organization.”

Pymetrics closed an $8 million investment round, according to VentureBeat. The New York-based company says its technology improves candidate-screening by identifying traits that contribute to a person’s success in a role and applying them to a company’s incoming job applications. VentureBeat says Pymetrics has raised $17 million since opening its doors in 2013.

Zenefits will abandon the insurance market and instead focus on providing software to brokers. Reuters says the San Francisco firm “will no longer aim to displace traditional brokers with technology, but rather will provide software to those same brokerages, which sell benefits to companies.” The company has had a number of conflicts with regulators and CEO Jay Fulcher said its expertise lies in software, not insurance brokerage.

Sterling Talent Solutions is integrating its ScreeningDirect background-screen platform with Ultimate Software’s UltiPro Recruiting, the companies announced. The integration aims to help Sterling’s and Ultimate’s customers simplify their hiring and background screening process, making it easier for mutual customers to access over 100 of Sterling’s screening services.
