ADP Launches New Integration With Microsoft

ADP and Microsoft have indicated their intention to continue looking for ways to join their technologies so that companies can create systems that allow simpler management of both business and HR tasks.

Technical IntegrationThat word came Tuesday, when ADP launched ADP Workforce Now, an HCM platform that works with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The latter is an all-in-one solution for managing finance, operations, sales and customer service. With the integration, clients who subscribe to both services can access their business and HR data in one place.

Approximately 160,000 organizations use Microsoft Dynamics 365, while some 60,000 use ADP Workforce Now. When linked, the systems provide clients with a cloud-based solution for payroll, HR, time and attendance, tax services, benefits and talent management.

The result, said ADP, is real-time visibility of both financial and HR transactions and increased efficiency because employee information updates both systems automatically.

Don Weinstein, ADP’s chief strategy officer, said the combination simplifies back-office operations by connecting multiple systems while at the same time providing insights based on employee and business data.

Incremental Steps

The integration seems more logical than revolutionary, but it’s worth taking note of Weinstein’s statement that, “We look forward to extending this relationship and having our R&D teams work together on future integrations with other Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications.”

Marko Perisic, general manager for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, echoed the sentiment. “I see the future of this relationship as incredibly synergistic, as we combine our cloud technology expertise with our power to reason around employee and financial data, in a private and secure way, to help our mutual customers be more productive.”

This sounds like something of a first step to us. Increasingly, we hear HR leaders say they want to do their work with fewer moving parts. In part, that means fewer sign-ons, fewer systems and fewer subscriptions.

The ADP Workforce Now and Dynamics 365 integration is available now on ADP Marketplace and Microsoft AppSource.
